Bertha Barbee-McNeal

Bertha Barbee-McNeal is a highly motivated educator, music professional and community leader dedicated to promoting academic and artistic excellence in students and others. She received her BA and MA from Western Michigan University in music education. Bertha began taking piano lessons at age nine and became quite an accomplished piano player. As a retired music teacher, she has acquired the reputation as an enthusiastic community leader anxious to promote diversity in music and the community. Bertha is also a member and co-founder of the Motown Recording Girl Group, The Velvelettes and still performs today.
