Jordan Hamilton, cellist of Last Gasp Collective and the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra. He merges songwriting, loop pedals, sample machines, and vocals to create a sonic landscape of experimental hip-hop, folk, soul, and classical music.

This Western Michigan University graduate pushes beyond the norm and creates new ways for the cello, a traditional instrument, to relate to a modern audience.

His genre fusions incorporate body percussion and sound. His collaborations are broad. He encourages his students to create scores and write their own tunes, use multiple languages,  and mix it up in every way.
